PD stands for pupillary distance; the space, in millimeters, between your pupils. We need it to make sure your prescription is centered correctly in your lenses.
Sometimes eye doctors leave it off your prescription, but no worries. We’ve built a free, easy-to-use PD measurement tool right into our site. It usually takes less than a minute to get your measurement.

Not quite. While both prescriptions correct your vision, they’re calculated differently—so the numbers aren’t interchangeable.
If you don’t have a current eyeglasses prescription, you’ll need to visit your eye doctor for an exam. Be sure to let them know you need a prescription for glasses, and don’t forget to ask for a copy before you leave.

Sometimes you just need to see frames on your face—totally get it. That’s why we offer a free In-Home Try-On.

You can try on all our styles virtually using our Virtual Try-On. Once you find a frame you like, click the “Virtual Try-On” button, remove any glasses you’re currently wearing, and follow the quick face scan instructions. (Make sure your device’s camera is enabled.)
For the most accurate preview, hold a credit card up to your face during the scan. This helps us measure your pupillary distance (PD) and show you how the frames will look in real life.
We’ll collect your prescription when you select your lenses. There are a few easy ways to provide it: You can upload a photo (definitely the easiest!), or enter the prescription details yourself.
Don’t have your prescription handy? No problem—you can still place your order. Just reach out and we’ll help you get it.
You’ve got 60 days to return or exchange your glasses—completely free. During that time, you can return them for a full refund or swap them for another pair.

If the fit isn’t quite right when your glasses arrive, you can take them to any optical shop for an adjustment. If they charge you for the service, we’ll reimburse you up to $25.

Here’s a few tips:
Yes! Our free single-vision prescription lenses are made from premium polycarbonate—a high-quality material that many other providers charge extra for. We start with it because:
a) we like you, and
b) polycarbonate is more durable and impact-resistant, so your lenses last longer and are less likely to break.
We do offer progressive (multifocal) lenses. They’re line-free and correct distance, near, and reading vision all in one lens.
We don’t currently offer bifocals or lenses for prescriptions that include prism.
Questions about your prescription?
Great question! High-index lenses are thinner, lighter, and help avoid the "Coke-bottle" effect for stronger prescriptions.
If your total power is below -3.50 or above +3.50, we recommend high-index lenses for sharper, clearer vision.

This includes anti-reflective (AR) and ultraviolet (UV) protection to improve clarity and shield your eyes.

All blue light and light-responsive lenses include this deluxe coating as a free upgrade. You can also add it to any clear lens at checkout for $49.
Unfortunately, we don’t offer international shipping at this time. But we do love a good international pancake.
Once we receive your prescription, it usually takes 7-10 days to complete your order. Some prescriptions may take longer depending on complexity.
One common delay is a missing pupillary distance (PD). To avoid this, make sure your PD is included with your prescription. Don't have one? Use our free PD Measurement Tool—it takes less than two minutes.
We don’t currently offer signature-required shipping.

Yes! We accept most major vision insurance plans. If you have United Healthcare or VSP, your benefits will be automatically applied at checkout.
For other providers, we're considered out-of-network, but reimbursement is easy:

They sure are! Any prescription lenses-including sunglasses or blue light lenses-can be paid for with your FSA or HSA account. Non-prescription eyewear isn’t eligible.
